About 20 years ago we were travelling by car and as my husband is addicted to stem engines.
he simply had to stop when he say a bunch of them together we entered the premisses as there was no “locked” gate around it and started taking pictures.
One of the steam engine operators saw us and started talking to us. My husband’s enthusiasme struck a nerve. And so we ended up riding along in the steam engine with our hole group, 4 adult and 3 children, we were there when they built up the fire, my husband could blow the wishtle and felt like a little boy agian. They drove around with us for about 40 minutes. A souvenir to remember for always. The white skirt I was wearing that day ended in the bin.
