Why we have a gurk in the christmas tree ?
Well the legend goes as follows :
Before 1900 the christmas tree was filled with edible presents for the children of the family.
On christmas day the children were allowed to scavange the christmas tree as all the goodies could go bad.
The child that found the gurk (because of it’s color very difficult to find in the tree) could pick an extra goodie in other stories the finder had first pick out of the tree.

No matter where the truth of the story is, it is fun to make your children, grandchildren look for the gurk.
you really need to look at their faces when they find the trophy !!! those moment are priceless !!!!!!!!!
